Elevated & Multi-Level Decks for Sloped Hill Country Lots

Second-story and multi-level decks that turn steep, rocky Hill Country slopes into usable living space with a view.

Elevated & Multi-Level Decks built for Texas living

Hill Country homes are often built on hillsides, which means the best views are from the back of the house — and the backyard drops away fast. An elevated or multi-level deck is the most practical way to turn that slope into usable outdoor living space.

Elevated decks demand careful engineering: properly sized posts and beams, lateral bracing, solid ledger connections and footings drilled into rock where the soil is shallow. We build them sturdy, safe and code-compliant, then add stairs, landings and railings that make every level easy to use.

FAQ

Elevated & Multi-Level Decks questions

How high can you build a deck?

We regularly build decks one and two stories above grade. Very tall or heavily loaded decks may require engineered plans, which we coordinate when needed.

Can a deck hold a hot tub?

Yes, if the framing and footings are designed for it from the start. A filled hot tub is extremely heavy, so we size the structure specifically for the tub you choose.

What can go under an elevated deck?

With an under-deck drainage system, the space below can stay dry enough for a shaded patio, outdoor seating or storage.

What areas do you serve for elevated & multi-level decks?

We provide elevated & multi-level decks throughout North San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country, including Stone Oak, The Dominion, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, Helotes, Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch, Boerne, Cordillera Ranch, Cibolo Canyons, Timberwood Park, Bulverde, Spring Branch, Canyon Lake, Garden Ridge, Encino Park, Sonterra.
